Oh.. Class class? I mean the Class is an object too? Hence the class method is actually an object method of the Class object.

a = Hw.new
a.world // won't work .. because world method is not in a
a.class.world // will work .. a.class returns the object which represents the Hw class, which has the method 'world'

It is a class called Hw. Agree. Hw is also a constant.
Which is also an object and hence inherits from Object. Yes.
But something else in the heirarchy makes the 'class method' possible. I guess you know the answer now :)

isn't this a class called Hw? one which doesn't really inherit from any other (except the implicit Object)? and "hello" and "world" are object and class methods respectively?
